Alison Doody
Alison Doody is an Irish actress and model. Born on November 11, 1966. Her debut came in the Bond film called A View to a Kill in the year 1985. In 1989, she played Nazi-sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Siobhan in A Prayer for the Dying, Charlotte in Taffin and Rebecca Flannery Major League II. Approached by a photographer Doody began to model, which turned into the profession of commercial modeling. Doody strictly avoided fashion, thongs and glamour in her modelling career. After being spotted by of the casting director of an upcoming James Bond film she accepted a small part as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one of the 12 most promising new Actors from 1986 in John Willis Screen World, Vol. 38. Doody was only 18 years old when she made her first appearance in the Bond role. To date she's the newest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying featuring Mickey Rourke in 1987, was another early film where Doody played IRA Siobhan. Doody had a non-speaking role in the 1987 television version of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in a dream. Doody's first leading role came in a 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow opposite John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The first time she appeared was in the film Taffin alongside Pierce Brosnan. Next, she portrayed Dr. Elsa Schneider as an Austrian Nazi-sympathizer and archaeologist opposite Harrison Ford. The film also starred Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody is a co-star with three actors that have played James Bond. Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce, in the British mini-series Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for The Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Following her move to Hollywood Doody made her a star. The actress later became Flannery her agent, as well as partner in Major League II. She was selected as the replacement for Cybill Shepherd who had been L'Oreal's spokesperson. After almost a decade away from the stage Doody returned to acting with a small role in 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an event scene for the award ceremony. In 2004, she starred with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She played a role on Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 publication about the Holocaust. Doody made an appearance in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. She later guest starred in RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of the classic horror film The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Her first two seasons of The E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014).
