Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. After her first audition, she placed within the top two places in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in just 10 weeks. Felix graduated from her high school year in 2003 and became a part of Adidas an agreement as professional athlete. The following year she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. A year later Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting the world junior record taking 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest 200-meter world champion at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 beating her longtime Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished at the top of the podium in the events.
